TikTok, Instagram, Google Business Profile — when you need them and when ads make sense.

← Marketing hub

TikTok is optional. Google Business Profile is mandatory for local services.

Best for

  • Plumber, salon, cafe with local clients
  • You can film 30-second clips
  • You want phone calls from maps

Avoid if

  • B2B only with no visual work
  • You hate being on camera and won't hire someone

Build phases

Social & local visibility

01

Google Business Profile first

Go to business.google.com → create profile → add real address, hours, phone, 5+ photos. Verify by postcard or phone.

Done when: Profile shows on Google Maps with your phone clickable

02

TikTok Business (optional)

tiktok.com/business → switch to Business account → link website → post 3 clips: who you are, one job done, one tip. 15–30 sec, vertical.

Done when: Bio has website link and at least 1 video with real work (not stock)

03

Instagram basics

Business account → same photos as site → Stories weekly → link in bio to contact form. Reuse TikTok clips as Reels.

Done when: Profile matches your brand; DMs or form get at least 1 inquiry/month

04

When to turn on ads

Ads only after: site works, form sends email, GSC connected. Start with Google Ads local or Meta — budget cap 300–500/month, one offer.

Done when: You wrote one sentence: who sees ad, what they click, what happens next
